There is a part of the gym that I tend to avoid. You know what I’m talking about, the section with all the mirrors and weights and dudes. While I was on the tread this morning, I caught myself watching/being super annoyed with the fit dudes in that corner, and was like why am I feeling this way? These guys are just working out like I am. Finally realized I just wanted to workout in that section without being intimidated or looked at or judged (like I was doing to them!). So I decided to go for it. I marched over there, put down my mat, and TOOK UP SPACE. I stretched way out, did yoga poses, planked, crunched into the mirror and even did that lay-down-pelvis-to-the-sky move. BAM. Kathy Bates wouldn’t let a little fear and some dudes stop her, so neither do i.
